About Today: How to Exercise in Fall 10/05/10

I never want to exercise during the summer. This is sort of a shame, considering that summer is the season in which one generally wears as few clothing as possible, the better to keep from melting into a person-shaped puddle on the sidewalk. Anyway, I'm just glad fall is here, and with it, temperatures conducive to exercising outside.

How to Exercise in Fall
My favorite exercise is sneaky exercise - the kind you don't even realize you're doing. Fall is ideal for this, because you can move around comfortably outside. It's easy to fool yourself into walking a little farther, for example.

Walking in Autumn
Walking is my favorite exercise, because you can people watch as you stroll. This gives you plenty of fodder for conversation with your walking partner.

5 Reasons to Ride a Bike
Or you can go back to your childhood, and rediscover the activities you used to do. Biking is one of those for me. The last time I rode a bike, I'd never seen a child's bike helmet. Clearly, it's been long enough and I should give this sport another try.

Fall seems like a good time to start new things. If you've never run before, this is the season to give it a shot.
